riverside retreat
The riverside residence takes on a lofty goal, to create a residence that makes a profound architectural statement while celebrating the beauty of the Northern Nevada High Desert and Truckee River Corridor. The design ethos revolved around the stone walls creating a north facing protected courtyard contrasted with a south facing semi-sunken lounge space to soak in the expansive views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
The landscape design was inspired by the colors, textures, and plant communities along the adjacent Truckee River corridor. Within the courtyard a sloping vegetated roof features bands of native seeding that create a seamless flowing view to the Peavine Foothills above.
